The November 12, 2004, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) contains a report entitled, “Indoor Air Quality in Hospitality Venues Before and After Implementation of a Clean Indoor Air Law—Western New York, 2003." The findings in this report demonstrate that comprehensive state clean indoor air policies can rapidly and effectively reduce secondhand smoke exposure in hospitality venues.
