Make This Father's Day Smoke-Free

To reach smokers and to help tobacco control programs and organizations reach smokers, CDC has developed resources that tap into Father’s Day to drive home the importance of smoking cessation.

    This article encourages dads who are smokers to quit and provides friends and family members of smokers with information and resources to encourage the dads who are smokers in their lives to quit for good.

    Encourage and Thank Dads
    These e-cards encourage dads to quit smoking and thank dads who have quit smoking.
  • Button
    Encouraging Dads to Quit Smoking
    States and partners can upload this button (available in various sizes) to their Web sites to help promote the Father's Day cessation message and to link users to related content on this Web site.

The following consumer friendly resources explain what scientists have learned over the years about the health consequences of smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. They also include helpful information on the benefits of quitting.

The following free resources are available to help dads who are smokers quit.

    Dads who are smokers can get free support and advice from experienced counselors, a personalized quit plan, self-help materials, the latest information about cessation medications, and more.
  • smokefree.gov
    This Web site provides free, accurate, evidence-based information and professional assistance to help support the immediate and long-term needs of people trying to quit smoking.
