Performance Improvement Managers Network (PIM Network)
The Performance Improvement Managers Network (PIM Network) serves as a community and forum for connecting Performance Improvement Managers (PIMs). The primary aim of the PIM Network is to foster collaboration, facilitate mutual support and to articulate and enhance quality improvement and performance management practices within state, tribal, local and territorial agencies. The PIM Network will also include a strong focus on connecting the PIMs with CDC and partner resources, training and sharing of best practices and information on topics of collective interest. This Network will evolve over time based on critical needs identified by the membership.
Performance Improvement Managers are a vital part of the CDC National Public Health Improvement Initiative (NPHII). The NPHII currently funds 76 state, tribal, local and territorial health departments or their bona fide agents and is strongly focused on continuous quality improvement and performance management and improving the ability of jurisdictions to meet national public health standards. Learn more about this initiative.
Component I of the NPHII requests that each of the 75 state, tribal, local and territorial health department grantees designate or hire a full-time equivalent Performance Improvement Manager and participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals. The PIM is intended to work collaboratively throughout the public health agency to lead and establish appropriate performance management/quality improvement (PM/QI) systems. The PIM may lead or be involved in the grantee’s work funded through the NPHII, and many PIMs will play a lead role in systems assessment and preparing the agency for accreditation.
