• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Support local health departments wishing to meet the Public Health Accreditation Board standards
  • Develop a state health asset assessment and searchable database
  • Expand training in Lean Six Sigma to support quality improvement activities in laboratory operations and to improve the timeliness and accuracy of public health data
  • Build workforce capacity to conduct quality improvement and return on investment activities

2011 Funding (Year 2)

• Amount of funding: $500,000
• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Advise the performance improvement team on the development and implementation of an internal self-assessment and the plan of action
  • Improve efficiencies in the Department of State Health Services contracting process
  • Create a single webpage for the Center for Health Statistics to improve access to health data
  • Improve data quality in the lead registry by leveraging process mapping results for births
  • Develop a dashboard for the birth defects, lead, trauma, and cancer registries using key performance measurement indicators
  • Improve state and local health department readiness for public health accreditation
