• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Implement a state health improvement plan
  • Develop a Michigan Department of Community Health roadmap to accreditation
  • Conduct quality improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the Sexually Transmitted Disease Program
  • Offer quality improvement and performance management learning opportunities within its public health system
  • Implement processes to improve customer satisfaction with public health programs and services

2011 Funding (Year 2)

• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Continue implementation of a statewide health assessment and health improvement planning initiative
  • Continue work on the department's strategic plan
  • Increase use of best practices
  • Implement quality improvement activities
  • Provide legal and policy training for staff
  • Refine reporting practices

2010 Funding (Year 1)

Component I

  Awardee will:
  
  • Focus on building, institutionalizing, and implementing performance management capacity within health departments
  • Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
