2012 Funding (Year 3)

• Amount of funding: $250,000
• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Continue to enhance capabilities and use of the agency-wide performance management system
  • Develop a public health-specific strategic plan and conduct a state health assessment
  • Measure efficiency and effectiveness of select programs and/or functions utilizing quality improvement (QI) and continuous improvement (CI) tools
  • Train staff in use of QI/CI tools
  • Address identified deficiencies and opportunities for improvement based on the Public Health Accreditation Board Beta Site test results and any subsequent self-assessments

2011 Funding (Year 2)

• Amount of funding: $248,838
• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Contract a "Performance Improvement Manager" for the next five years to oversee the formation of a Performance Improvement Team
  • Develop and produce a department-wide, five-year performance improvement plan for the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH)
  • Set up performance improvement trainings for WDH staff, especially division administrators and program managers
  • Work with program managers and division fiscal specialists to examine the obligations and expenditures of programs and divisions
