  • Apply for public health accreditation
  • Assist county health departments in completing accreditation readiness activities
  • Convene the county accreditation coordinator network, a collaborative of accreditation coordinators from county health departments
  • Conduct quality/performance improvement initiatives and reporting

2011 Funding (Year 2)

• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Increase the capacity to routinely evaluate and improve system-wide effectiveness through the Step UP performance management system and related applications
  • Increase alignment of state services and county health departments with the state health improvement plan and strategic map priority goals
  • Increase collaboration and implementation of promising and best practices
  • Improve workforce performance management, strategic planning, accreditation readiness, and quality improvement knowledge, capacity, and skills

  • Focus on building, institutionalizing, and implementing performance management capacity within health departments
  • Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
