  • Conduct a self-assessment of public health accreditation readiness
  • Partner with local public health districts in planning efforts
  • Encourage partnerships and collaborations across various public health partners to strengthen healthcare systems
  • Support local public health district public health accreditation readiness activities
  • Improve the delivery of emergency medical services continuing education opportunities
  • Identify business practices that can be simplified and streamlined
  • Explore return on investment activities related to public health practices

2011 Funding (Year 2)

• Description of Project
  Awardee will:
  • Increase the use of evidence-based policies and practices being implemented
  • Implement a quality improvement culture and practice throughout the department
  • Help the Idaho Bureau of Labs to decide on a laboratory accreditation program, finish the draft Quality Assurance Plan, begin its implementation, and develop an internal auditing system for staff and procedures

  • Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
