2012 Funding (Year 3)
- Amount of funding: $249,998
- Description of Project
Awardee will:- Provide training and technical assistance to the 43 federally recognized tribes that are members of the board (member tribes) in support of the development, implementation, and completion of tribal health assessments, tribal health improvement plans, and strategic plans
- Provide public health accreditation and quality improvement (QI) trainings to the 43 member tribes
- Provide technical assistance for the completion of quality improvement projects to the 43 member tribes
- Provide QI mini-awards to tribes seeking to complete public health accreditation readiness activities
- Provide technical assistance based on Public Health Accreditation Board standards and Lean management principles
2011 Funding (Year 2)
- Amount of funding: $250,000
- Description of Project
Awardee will:- Augment efforts to establish and implement a Northwest Tribal Public Health Accreditation Performance Management Office
- Hire a biostatistician to expand efforts of the "Performance Improvement Manager"
- Support the creation of a framework for quality improvement (QI) education and outreach
- Implement a technical assistance and outreach schedule based on assessment outcomes
- Continue to serve as a resource and referral for Northwest tribes for QI trainings, resources, and tools
- Implement a strategic plan for public health infrastructure development
- Implement a strategic training initiative with the input of key stakeholders
- Provide two QI trainings at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board in Portland, Oregon for the 43 federally recognized tribes that are members of the board
2010 Funding (Year 1)

- Description of Project:
Awardee will:
- Focus on building, institutionalizing, and implementing performance management capacity within health departments
- Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
