2013 Funding (Year 4)

  • Amount of funding: $250,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Work with a cohort of public health nurse students attending the College of the Marshall Islands to produce a work plan for how the Ministry will conduct its community health assessment
    • Continue to work toward decreasing outpatient and public health clinic wait times for better service provision to patients
    • Complete an organizational self-assessment to identify gaps in meeting national Public Health Accreditation Board standards
    • Decrease time in processing contracts by working with external partners (other government agencies) to determine extra steps that could be eliminated
    • Develop and use an agency-wide performance management system
    • Develop a referral system that directs rape cases from the emergency room to the Human Services Program
    • Increase the percentage of children aged <6 years whose immunization records are entered in MIWebIZ in Majuro
    • Improve data collection by recording vaccines administered and requiring a data quality check report every month

2012 Funding (Year 3)

  • Amount of funding: $250,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Prepare for community health assessment and train staff how to conduct it
    • Decrease services wait time for outpatient and public health clinic patients
    • Complete an organization self-assessment to identify gaps in meeting Public Health Accreditation Board standards
    • Decrease processing time for travel authorizations and purchase requisition
    • Develop and use an agency-wide performance management system

2011 Funding (Year 2)

  • Amount of funding: $250,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Continue to ensure that ongoing performance activities and evidence-based policies and practices are developed, enhanced, and executed

2010 Funding (Year 1)

Component I

  • Name of program/project:
    Component I - Republic of the Marshall Island's Strengthening Public Health Infrastructure for Improved Health Outcomes
  • Amount of funding: $100,000
  • Description of Project:
    Awardee will:
    • Focus on building, institutionalizing, and implementing performance management capacity within health departments
    • Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
