We are very excited to implement a new green initiative that will create a more environmentally aware conference. CDC’s Go Green, Get Healthy Initiative encourages simple changes to conferences and meetings to promote health and a healthier environment, save time and money, and educate attendees about environmental issues.

We are seeking ways to green our meeting and reduce negative impact on the environment. Here are a few highlights:

All communications (i.e. calls for abstracts, conference registration, hotel registration, etc.) will be electronic.

Abstracts in the conference program will be provided to all attendees in an electronic form, saving thousands of pieces of paper and the energy needed to print.

We will promote the use of public transit (MARTA), biking, and walking.

Morning exercise and/or group runs will be offered to start the day.
