Biography

TGift@cdc.gov

Much of Dr. Gift’s work at CDC has been in the area of cost-effectiveness analysis, particularly the cost-effectiveness of different approaches to chlamydia and gonorrhea screening and treatment. He has examined the cost-effectiveness of test selection, treatment regimen, and selective versus universal screening in a variety of settings, both in the United States and abroad.

His current work is focused on modeling the cost-effectiveness of expedited treatment for partners of patients diagnosed with chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis.  He is also working on analyses of provider STD screening patterns, retesting interventions, and prenatal syphilis screening.

Dr. Gift was a Steven Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellow. He holds a PhD and MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BA from the University of Colorado-Denver.
