Where CDC Works

Since 1998, Safe Water System (SWS) programs have been implemented in over 35 countries. The map below provides details on SWS programs that are currently operating, as well as ones that have previously operated, around the world. Since the start of the SWS program, a volume of products sufficient to treat nearly 137 billion liters of water (as of 2013) has been sold in over 35 countries. Products sold include: the Safe Water System (~118.7 billion), water treatment tablets (~9.4 billion), products included within the Basic Care Package (~5.7 billion), and P&G™ (~3 billion).
