Delaware: Injury Deaths among Children 0 to 19 Years of Age
- The number of unintentional injury deaths for the period 2000 – 2005 was 211; that is an average of 35 deaths per year.
- The unintentional injury death rate was 15.8 per 100,000 population; this was similar to the national rate of 15.0 per 100,000 population.

- Most injury deaths (63%) occurred among males 0 to 19 years of age.
- Children 15 to 19 years of age had the highest death rate of all age groups (39.1 per 100,000 population).
- *Twelve deaths occurred among those less than 1 year of age and 18 among those 5 to 9 years of age. Rates based on fewer than 20 deaths may be unreliable.

- Transportation-related injuries had the highest death rate among children 0 to 19 years of age in the state of Delaware (10.8 per 100,000 population).
