There are several measures that can be used to plan and evaluate environmental changes to improve nutrition and physical activity and reduce risks for obesity. The Institute teaches researchers and public health practitioners how to use the measures. Training includes lecture, fieldwork, hands-on exercises, group work, and individual consultation. Attendees must apply for acceptance to the BEAT Institute.

Audience
The training is intended for public health practitioners, academic faculty, post-doctoral fellows, PhD candidates, and employees at government and public health agencies.

Duration
One week (about 46 total hours).
