Prevention Research Centers Request for Applications (RFA)
CDC announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2004 funds for a cooperative agreement program to fund Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers (PRCs). This program addresses the Healthy People 2010 focus areas of access to quality health services, cancer, diabetes, disability and secondary conditions, educational and community-based programs, health communications, nutrition and overweight, and physical activity and fitness. This announcement will be competed in two separate rounds, as described below.
The first round of competition in FY2003 was open to applicants from the universities funded under Program Announcements 98047, 00089, and 01101.
Eligible applicants that did not receive a fundable quality score during the first round of competition and all other applicants meeting the eligibility requirements (see Eligible Applicants section in the revised RFA #04003) will be considered during the second round. Specific guidance and exact due dates are provided in the announcement.
Questions regarding the Special Interest Projects Competitive Supplements Program Announcement 04003 are answered by the Prevention Research Centers Office through the ListServe, which is accessible to all applicants.
New applicants may join the ListServe for the current competition by following the instructions in the RFA.
CDC is convening a workshop for investigators planning to submit an application for Program Announcement #04003. The meeting will provide information and technical assistance to prospective applicants and give them an opportunity to ask questions about the intent and requirements of the program announcement. The meeting is open to the public.
Potential applicants are not required to attend the workshop. A list of questions asked during the workshop and a written summary of the responses by CDC staff will be posted after the meeting.
