The Office of Health System Collaboration

The Office of Health System Collaboration (OHSC) in the Office of the Associate Director for Policy provides leadership for CDC’s public health and health care collaboration activities and the public health response to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Office of Health System Collaboration

  • identifies opportunities for clinical system and community health intervention coordination and collaboration;
  • advises CDC leadership on public health and health care-related initiatives, challenges, opportunities, and research;
  • enhances executive-level relationships and activities with key health care partners;
  • leads efforts to promote health care’s adoption of population health measures;
  • identifies and promotes high value public health and health care initiatives;
  • provides technical assistance to CDC programs and partners on topics such as health reform implementation and the community health needs assessment;
  • monitors ACA implementation at federal, state, and local levels and shares key information;
  • interprets health care legislation and implications for health care and public health.
