About the Conference

The sixth annual Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, August 2428 2008 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta. The theme this year is Public Health Informatics: Collaboration at the Crossroads, and the conference is slated to bring together the best of the informatics community in one place to build the future of PHIN.The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) will co-sponsor this event.

This year’s conference will feature workgroups/ancillary meetings, informatics workshops/tutorials, many opportunities for networking with informatics colleagues from the local, state, national, and international levels. You can also provide input to CDC on how to implement the PHIN initiative in the context of the larger national Health IT Initiative.

The conference planning included participation from NACCHO, NAHDO, ASTHO, CSTE, APHL, NAPHSIS, and NAPHIT, state and local health department partners, and internal subject matter experts in the National Center for Public Health Informatics.
