Poster Session

Overview
Posters are an excellent forum for authors to present their work and share information in an informal and interactive manner. Work presented on posters has the following attributes:
  • Ideas presented are interesting and valuable to a niche audience;
  • Results are too preliminary for a full paper; and
  • Partial results displayed demonstrate proof of concept.

Poster authors are required to be present in the exhibit hall at specified times to discuss their work with attendees and judges (see below). Discussions tend to be open and interactive with questions and comments.

Poster Competition

For the third consecutive year, the PHIN Conference is hosting a poster competition. We are soliciting posters related to the conference theme: “Informatics: Investment for the Future”.

The poster judging criteria includes:
  • Relevance to the conference theme, goal, and objectives;
  • Visual clarity;
  • Information flow;
  • Innovative approach; and
  • Content, methodology, and conclusion, plus quality and accuracy.

The most successful and well received posters are those that have strong visual components (i.e., diagrams, charts, graphics, etc) and grab the attention of the participants and judges. The top three selected posters will receive awards at a closing session on Wednesday, September 2nd from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Poster Abstract Submission

  • Submissions will be selected based on the suitability of the subject to the conference theme, key words, and the extent to which the poster presents new, original, and significant work.
  • Data may have been presented or accepted for presentation at another meeting; however, the more recent the data, the greater the likelihood of acceptance.
  • An individual may be first author on only one poster submission.
  • Each poster must have an author present during the specified times.

Presenter Criteria

  • Must be registered for the conference;
  • Available to answer questions or provide a brief oral overview to poster visitors;
