Certification

All partners are expected to implement capable, interoperable information systems that support public health preparedness and to develop information technology systems that are compliant with PHIN.

PHIN Certification is a process to ensure that information systems have the necessary functional capabilities, can share data, and work together to implement a national network of interoperable public health information systems. As CDC is re-tooling the PHIN requirements we are also assessing the effectiveness of our certification processes and examining other models to determine their potential for use in public health.
