PHIN CoP Framework
PHIN CoP Program
The Communities of Practice Program (CoPP) consists of a team of people supported by CDC who are knowledgeable and trained in the areas of CoP methodology, communication, education, collaboration technology, and evaluation. The team supports and guides the PHIN Community and all PHIN CoPs by providing facilitation, oversight, and reporting on activities of the PHIN Community and PHIN CoPs.The PHIN Communities of Practice Program (CoPP) is located within the Division of Alliance Management and Consultation (DAMC) in CDC’s National Center for Public Health Informatics (NCPHI). The program provides leadership and resources necessary to support the PHIN Communities of Practice and the associated PHIN Communities of Practice Council. Services provided by the program may include logistical, strategic, and educational support for each PHIN Community of Practice.
The primary objectives of the Communities of Practice Program are to establish a conceptual framework for Communities of Practice within PHIN, support community communication and collaboration, disseminate best practices and lessons learned to the PHIN Community at large, and to guide PHIN CoP operations. By effectively meeting these objectives, the Communities of Practice Program will facilitate and coordinate interactions and partnerships that promote the success and strategic alignment of the PHIN community.
Responsibilities of the CoPP include
Supporting each PHIN CoP with facilitation, consultation, education, and communication and collaboration tools (e.g., webinars, teleconferences)
Reviewing operational concerns and suggestions with the PHIN CoPs Council
Supporting the planning, launch, and development of new PHIN CoPs
