Giant Inflatable Colon and Community Knowledge, Intention, and Social Support for Colorectal Cancer Screening

The figure is a walk-through, inflatable model of a human colon measuring 20 feet wide by 32 feet long by 14 feet high. The model depicts healthy tissue as well as 3-dimensional precancerous and cancerous growths protruding from the walls of the model, along with display signs that give information on colorectal cancer screening and prevention.

Figure. “Nolan the Colon” giant interactive colon model. The model is a walk-through inflatable replica of a human colon that illustrates the development of colorectal cancer. Viewers of this interactive exhibit gain a better understanding of how colorectal cancer is identified, how it advances, and how to lower their risk for the disease.
