A Message from the Editor

April 8, 2009

Health and education are intertwined. Healthy children learn better. Research shows a direct relationship between a child's health, growth and development, and educational achievement.

CDC's education partners recognize that health and education represent an inseparable relationship, in that, quality in one area cannot be achieved without quality in the other. To link the two sectors, these partners have developed various initiatives and programs to address and support the needs of children from the cradle to adulthood.

In this issue, we highlight the work of three educational partners: ASCD, the Coalition for Community Schools, the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies.

For more on CDC's partners in education, visit the CDC Education Sector.

Warm Regards,

CDC Partnerships
