If not, please follow the steps below to adjust your browser to underline all links. (These steps are for the Internet Explorer browser; for other browsers, the steps are similar.)
1. Select the browser's "Tools" menu item.
2. From the drop-down menu, select "Internet Options".
3. On the "Internet Options" dialog box, click the "Advanced" tab.
4. Under the "Browsing" section on that tab, scroll to "Underline links".
5. Click the "Always" button as shown in the illustration below. (This illustration is from Internet Explorer running on Windows XP; other Windows systems show similar dialog boxes.)
6. Exit the dialog box by clicking the "OK" button.
7. The text on this line should now be underlined.

How To Expand or Hide Section Contents

Try it out on the section heading on the next line and on those underlined headings elsewhere on the page.

What the Areas and Colors Mean

The browser window below shows what the areas on a single-page tutorial page contain. Areas on a page of a single-page tutorial.

For a tutorial that contains more than one page, we show the major headings on pages before and after the current page, as shown below.

Links

Links are underlined and color-coded by your browser. Links appear in the page CONTENT area, in the COMMAND area, and in the OUTLINE area(s):

In the Page CONTENT Area

Section headings are shown as links followed by one or two icons:

The first icon is a green icon or a red . One of these icons is always present; it indicates whether the section contents are hidden () or expanded (). Clicking on the section heading or on the icon expands the section; clicking the section heading or on the icon hides the contents of the section.
The second icon appears only if there are subsections within the section. It is either a green icon or a red icon.
- Clicking the icon expands all the subsections in the section. If the section contents were hidden, they are expanded, too. (When you position the cursor over the icon, the yellow "tool tip" indicates which effect will take place.)
- Clicking the icon hides all subsections in the section. If the section contents were expanded, they are hidden, too. (Here, too, when you position the cursor over the icon, the yellow "tool tip" indicates which effect will take place.)

Links that are not section headings are accompanied by trailing or leading icons that indicate what the link does. Here are the icons and their interpretations:

Accompanying icon	What happens when you click the link or icon
or	Jumps to a different page in the set of tutorials — the page may or may not be in the same tutorial.
	In a new browser window, shows a different page in the set of tutorials — the page may or may not be in the same tutorial. The current page remains showing in the original browser window.
	In a new browser window, shows a page from outside the set of tutorials. The current page remains showing in the original browser window.
	Causes a jump to a different location on the current page.

In the COMMAND Area

You execute a command clicking its link or its accompanying icon.

What the Commands Do

Commands take you to different pages. They are arranged in two groups:

The commands in the first group replace the current page — the page you are viewing — with another:
- Prev takes you to the page in the tutorial sequence that precedes the current page. You can use it repeatedly to step backward through the tutorial.
- Next takes you to the next page in the tutorial. You can use it repeatedly to step through the entire tutorial.
The commands in the second group open a new browser window and show another page in that new window:
- Contents or Series Contents:
  - The Contents command appears on tutorial pages. It shows the Table of Contents for the tutorial you are running.
  - The Series Contents command appears on series pages (e.g., Help, Preface, or Series Glossary pages). It shows the Series Table of Contents, with a separate table for each tutorial.
- Glossary or Series Glossary:
  - If a tutorial has a tutorial-specific Glossary page, the Glossary command appears on tutorial pages. Click it to see the Glossary for the tutorial you are running.
  - The Series Glossary command appears on series pages (e.g., Help, Preface, or Series Contents pages) and on pages for tutorials that have no tutorial-specific Glossary. Click it to see the master Glossary for the entire series.
- Print All takes you to a page holding a composite of all the pages in the tutorial — ready for you to print.
- Help takes you to the Help page — where you are now.
Because these commands open a new browser window that overlays the original window, the current page will remain in the original browser window.
When you are finished with the page in the new browser window, you can:
- choose to leave the new window open or to close it, or
- go back to the original current page by clicking on a visible portion of its window or on its icon on the task bar at the bottom of your screen.

How Do the Effects of the Prev Command and the Browser's Back Button Differ?

the Prev command takes you back to the preceding page in the tutorial, regardless of how you got to the current page, whereas
the browser's Back button takes you to the page you were seeing just before you jumped to the current page. That page may or may not be the preceding page in the tutorial.

In the OUTLINE Area(s)

Headings of tutorial sections preceding and following the current page are shown as links.

When you click on a section heading (or its arrow icon

) in the outline area, you jump to the page holding that section.

From that new page, you can return to the original page by either:

using the browser's Back button, or
clicking on the original page's section heading in the outline area.

How to Print

Use the browser's Print button to print the single page being displayed.

The printed page will show just the text you see displayed — the browser pays attention to which sections are expanded and which are hidden.
To print the entire tutorial, follow these steps:
1. Use the Print All command. It will open a new browser window and show you a page that is a composite of the entire tutorial.
2. Use the browser's Print button to print that composite page.

How to Search All the Text on a Page or in a Tutorial

When you invoke the browser's Find command or Search button to search for a word or phrase, it searches only the text that is visible when you scroll the page.

It does not search the text in any collapsed sections. Nor in a multi-page tutorial, does it search any page but the current one.

Here is how to use search:

To search all the text on the current page, you should open all the collapsed sections before using the browser's Find or Search. (The icon is useful to open all of a section's child sections.)
To search all the text in an entire tutorial, you should use the Print All command and perform the browser's Find or Search on the tutorial's composite page.

Getting Back to Where You Were

When you have finished with this page, you may:

close this browser window, or
on the task bar at the bottom of your screen, click the icon for the browser window you were viewing when you selected Help.
