What’s in this report?

This report was developed through the USCM’s HIV/AIDS Prevention Program, with funding from a CDC grant. It describes successful locally-based HIV prevention programs and strategies from 12 cities around the country. The report highlights the innovative ways these communities have improving HIV/AIDS prevention education and outreach efforts to hard-to-reach populations. It outlines programs in Boston (MA), Cedar Rapids (IA), Chicago (IL), Durham (NC), Houston (TX), Inglewood (NJ), Newport News (VA), San Francisco (CA), Seattle (WA), Trenton (NJ), Tulsa (OK), and Virginia Beach (VA).

• the organizations carrying out the efforts;

• demographics of the high-risk populations reached through these efforts;
