PHINDIR
PHINDIR is the CDC's fulfillment of the PHIN requirement for a centralized repository of people, organizations, and jurisdictions in public health. It provides the Object Identifier (OID) for organizations used by applications and programs at CDC, along with partners communicating their data to the CDC or with other partners. PHINDIR contains over 170,000 people in public health along with the roles and titles they have approximately 215,000 organizations and jurisdictions. PHINDIR is utilized by internal CDC partners such as CDCAS, EOC, OSEP, BioSense, DMB, CRA, CMD, PHLIP, and the CDC intranet. If you've ever used the Health Department Lookup from the CDC intranet, you've used PHINDIR. External partners include the state and local public health agencies, ASTHO, and NACCHO. The PHINDIR White Pages, coming late in 2010, will provide additional capabilities for CDC staff.
