CDC Alerting System

The CDC Alerting System (CDCAS) is a virtually unlimited, instantaneous alerting capability for emergency response and notification. Since 2009, CDCAS has sent over 200,000 email/BlackBerry messages and over 7,000 messages by phone to nearly 100,000 recipients. CDCAS is used internally by the EOC, HAN, OSEP, OSELS, Epi-X, NNDSS, and Science Clips systems and is integrated with external partners at state public health agencies for cascade alerting. The newly released CDCAS PHIN Exchange product is being implemented by all state public health partners to facilitate secure transmit of cascade alerts.
