Infectious Diseases Technology Development Team
Mission
The mission of the Infectious Diseases Technology Development Team is to contribute to improving public health by encouraging the development of infectious diseases technologies and by facilitating collaborations and non-patented technology transfers among federal scientists, laboratories, academia and industry.
Primary Functions
- Analyze technology transfer research proposals
- Advise technical staff on appropriate technology transfer mechanisms to formalize technology transfer research proposals and the appropriate mechanisms that allow financial resources into CDC
- Incorporate scientific edits/recommendations to technology transfer research plans to provide clarity concerning the respective intellectual contributions of the parties
- Negotiate terms of agreements with non-CDC parties
- Review intellectual property issues and potential conflict of interest issues
- Liaise with CDC Tech Transfer Office, Office of General Counsel, and CDC Ethics Official
