Veronnica has over 10 years of public health experience. She began her career as a disease intervention specialist for Fulton County Health Department, STD/TB Division, in Atlanta, Georgia and continued as a DIS with Multnomah County Health Department, STD Division, in Portland, Oregon. After several years of field experience at the local level, Veronnica returned to her hometown Tallahassee, Florida to pursue a Master of Public Health degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. While in school she broadened her professional experience by teaching middle school science and eventually returned to public health as an injury prevention specialist for the Florida Department of Health, Office of Injury Prevention. Upon graduation she was offered a position at CDC, further broadening her public health experience to the federal level.

Veronnica has a broad range of public health experience, most recently working as a public health analyst for Policy and Issues Management with the Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Scientific Services. Veronnica works as deputy to the OSELS Associate Director for Policy to coordinate budget and performance initiatives, legislative analysis and synthesis, program development and implementation, issues management and coordinate multiple, high-priority cross-cutting requests and controlled correspondence.

Veronnica currently serves as the Acting Associate Director for Policy for OSELS.
