Office of the Director
Cindy Johnson - Management Officer
Cindy P. Johnson joined OWCD when the office was being formed in 2004, and has served as extramural coordinator, advisor to the management officer and chief management official, and budget planner. She also has provided guidance on contract development and has been a liaison to CDC's Procurement and Grants Office. As a member of CDC's Senior Assessment Team, Ms. Johnson helped develop the agency's Internal Control Program, directing successful risk assessments and internal-control reviews for OWCD.
Ms. Johnson began her CDC career 20 years ago in an administrative position in the Management Analysis and Services Office (MASO), providing business services. She soon began to manage CDC-wide reviews of reorganization proposals, and served as a liaison with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding CDC's structure and mission.
Beginning in 2002, when working in CDC's Competitive Sourcing Activity in MASO, Ms. Johnson served on an HHS committee to plan and develop guidance for implementing the Fair Act Inventory (FAIR). During the same time period, Ms. Johnson served as CDC's point of contact for competitive sourcing related to the President's Management Agenda, managing A-76 study teams and special projects.
Ms. Johnson received a Presidential Letter in 2004 for her accomplishments in CDC's competitive sourcing efforts.
