Epidemiology and Analysis Program Office
The Epidemiology and Analytic Methods Program Office (EAPO) targets the application of public health sciences to improve population health through research, methods development, consultation, practice, training, education, and technical assistance.
We accomplish our mission by focusing on these critical areas:
- Developing innovative methods for the collection, analysis and communication of public health surveillance information;
- Coordinating Preparedness Modeling activities;
- Providing expertise in the development of scientific content for the Guide for Community Preventive Services and overall management of the Task Force for Community Preventive Services;
- Providing statistical, epidemiologic, and econometric expertise to CDC and external partners;
- Develops, coordinates, and produces the Morbidity and Mortality Report (MMWR) series, including MMWR Recommendations and Reports, CDC Surveillance Summaries, and the Annual Summary of Notifiable Diseases;
- Delivers credible, timely information from Scientific and health literature to CDC scientists by delivering reference services and access to published resources and making available knowledge resources and services (i.e., Library).
