2011 National Oral Health Conference
Converge on the Future
April 11–13, 2011
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The 2011 National Oral Health Conference (NOHC) was the 12th annual joint
meeting of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD) and
the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD).
DOH Acting Division Director RADM William Bailey, Chief Dental Officer, U.S.
Public Health Service, provided the welcome and keynote address during the
Opening Ceremony.
Other plenary and conference sessions addressed the following:
- Community water fluoridation
- Dental workforce, including alternative workforce models
- Opportunities to link the medical and dental services delivery systems
- Health systems modeling
- Telehealth
- Health care reform
- Public health infrastructure
- Oral health coalitions
- School oral health programs
- School-based dental sealant programs
- Fluoride mouthrinse programs
- Oral health and older populations
- Preventive care for people with HIV and chronic illness
The NOHC is for public health officials, state and territorial dental
directors, dentists, dental hygienists, Medicaid/SCHIP dental representatives,
county/city/local dental directors, community health-center personnel, health
researchers, dental and health educators, legislators and policymakers,
students, dental suppliers, and dental insurance company staff.
