2011 Charles C. Shepard Science Awards
The Office of the Associate Director for Science held the annual Charles C. Shepard Science Awards ceremony on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Roybal‘s Global Communications Center. For those who were unable to attend, an archived video is available: Click here to view.
This year Professor Brian Greenwood, a renowned British physician, researcher, academic and advocate for malaria prevention and control efforts, presented the keynote address entitled "Vaccines for Global Health." Among his many achievements and awards, Professor Brian Greenwood was a recipient of both the first Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize and The Chalmers Medal in tropical disease, and is an appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
