News from the NPHPSP

CDC and the NPHPSP partners are pleased to announce the availability of the new Version 2.0 performance assessment instruments. The three NPHPSP performance assessment instruments – for state public health systems, local public health systems, and local governing entities – are available for download in a PDF format and can also be ordered from CDC through an on-line order form or via the CDC helpdesk.

The updated tools are the result of an 18-month practice-driven revision process. As part of this process, the NPHPSP worked with subject matter experts to ensure the standards reflect contemporary public health practice. The update activities also included some streamlining and other changes to improve the user-friendliness of the tools. Click here to learn about the key changes that were implemented.

To celebrate the launch of the newly updated NPHPSP instruments, the program will be sponsoring several NPHPSP-related events at the APHA Annual Meeting:

• Session 3200.0 -- NPHPSP Part I - Performance Standards as Good Policy – The NPHPSP as Valuable Tools in Shaping National, State, and Local Practice (WEBCAST). Monday, November 5, 12:30-2:00 p.m.
• Session 3298.0 -- NPHPSP Part II - Learn the Latest! Introducing the Version 2 NPHPSP Performance Standards Assessments. Monday, November 5, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
• NPHPSP “Version 2.0 Launch” Celebration Reception – the program will be hosting a reception during the APHA Annual Meeting for those that have been involved in guiding the revision, as well as for former and new users of the performance assessments. Monday, November 5, 6:30pm, Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel, 999 Ninth Street NW
