CDC’s Commissioned Corps Policy Advisory Committee Wants Your Opinion!

The CDC/ATSDR Director’s Commissioned Corps Policy Advisory Committee (CCPAC) has begun an ongoing process to inform the Director, CDC of its views regarding the Corps and its application to CDC’s mission. CCPAC plans to do this consultatively with CDC/ATSDR Commissioned Corps Officers. As a starting point CCPAC composed a draft of a white paper “Transforming the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps: CDC/ATSDR Perspective,” (PDF, 52 KB) which includes 22 recommendations that, if acted upon, will affect all CDC/ATSDR Commissioned Corps Officers. The goal of the white paper is to provide a framework to improve the standing and morale of CDC/ATSDR Corps Officers and provide Dr. Gerberding with talking points for her ongoing discussions with the Secretary about the Corps at CDC/ATSDR.

CCPAC wants the paper to reflect the input of Corps officers at CDC and ATSDR. We conducted several brown bag meetings to obtain your thoughts and constructive feedback on the draft white paper and its recommendations. As we obtain officer input, we will review the paper and make appropriate changes to its content and recommendations.

Whether or not you were able to attend one of the discussion sessions, you can still provide feedback by completing the white paper feedback form (MS Word, 81 KB) and mailing or faxing it to Mr. Aaron Arnold at (770) 488-1970 or MS K27 by October 31.

For more information about the CCPAC please go to Frequently Asked Questions regarding the CDC Director’s Commissioned Corps Policy Advisory Committee. We look forward to your feedback on this important draft document.

We appreciate your interest and sharing your perspective.
