Officers who are assigned to other agencies or outside the Atlanta area may wish to visit the Atlanta COA website for alternate training classes at www.atlantacoa.com, visit the Commissioned Corps Personnel Office website www.cdc.gov/od/occp, or www.heart.org/eccclassconnector or contact CCPO staff at 404-498-1800 for additional information.
Course Information: (RENEWAL and INITIAL Classes offered)
Specially scheduled AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider courses are being provided exclusively for Atlanta based Commissioned Corps Officers to help them meet deployment readiness policy requirements. Priority enrollment will be given for active duty officers who need to obtain BLS certification to meet basic standards for readiness.
NOTE: Please be courteous to your fellow officers. If you cannot attend a BLS class which you registered for, please cancel through the Learning Portal so that the system can add another Officer on the wait list.
ALL BLS courses will be held at Roybal, Bldg. 20, Basement, Conference Room 113.
Course Description: The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (adult and pediatric) including ventilation with a barrier device, bag-mask ventilation, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for the responsive and unresponsive victim.
This course is for those persons whose certification is current. Participants must provide a copy of their current card scanned to email@example.com faxed to the Lifestyle Office (404) 639-4075 as soon as they register for a course in the HHS Learning Portal.
For Renewals, we recommend that you register to renew 3-4 months before your expiration date. This allows you more chance to reschedule before the expiration if a course has to be cancelled due to low registration.

Please read this! Important Registration Information that you need to know regarding the Learning Portal----
Once you sign up, your manager will receive an e-mail to confirm your participation in the course.
Once your manager has approved your participation, you will receive an official confirmation from the Lifestyle Program.
If you are on the waiting list, once a space becomes available, you will be notified by the Lifestyle Program via phone or e-mail. You are not confirmed until you receive notification by the Lifestyle Program. If you receive a confirmation by the learning portal, that is NOT an official confirmation. That confirmation could be from your manager-it will say this on the e-mail.
Approximately 4 days before the course, participants who are confirmed, will receive a pre-course instruction e-mail. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact the Lifestyle Program immediately.
