About Us
From the Desk of the Ethics Program Manager
Welcome back to the Ethics Program Activity Office intranet site! We are pleased that so many of our stakeholders in the CDC community recognize the value of this important website. On this site, you will find quick links to required ethics forms and other beneficial ethics resources that will help you to fulfill your personal responsibility of “Maintaining the Public Trust” as an employee of CDC.
In this historical presidential election year, it is essential that every CDC employee is mindful of the Hatch Act, which governs the political activities of Executive Branch employees. The Hatch Act allows most Federal employees to take an active role in partisan political campaigns in their personal capacity and away from government buildings. In contrast, the Act provides greater restrictions to certain groups of Federal employees such as Commissioned Officers of the USPHS and employees holding career positions in the Senior Executive Service. For more detailed information on the Hatch Act, please see the article entitled “Hatching” a Plan to Keep You Politically Correct under the “What’s New” section.
As always, you are encouraged to contact the CDC Ethics Office at ethics@cdc.gov or at 404.639.5003 should you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation with the CDC Ethics program.
