Inputs: Emerging Issues

An emerging issue in occupational safety and health for small businesses is the effort to identify ways that intermediary organizations can be encouraged to deliver safety and health information and programs to small businesses. Intermediary organizations are organizations such as chambers of commerce, trade associations, insurance companies, small business development centers, and professional associations – all of whom deliver goods and services to small businesses. Another emerging issue is injury and illness prevention programs (or I2P2) for small businesses. Given their restricted resources, I2P2 for small businesses may need to be different than they are for larger businesses.
