bar under the "On this page . . ." section.
Web Site Layout
Pages on the DCAS Web site are typically organized into six main sections. Click on any of the links below to learn more about the section. A screenshot
of one of our pages is also provided to help you easily identify each section. The numbers beside the links correspond to the numbers on the screenshot
of the page.
- NIOSH Header/Navigation Bar
- NIOSH Program Area: Radiation Dose Reconstruction Page Header
- Page Content
- DCAS "Find It!" Navigation Bar
- Page Last Updated/Reviewed
- NIOSH Footer Links
Top of Page
- NIOSH Header/Navigation Bar
The NIOSH Header/Navigation Bar is located at the top of each page
of our Web site because DCAS is a division under NIOSH. NIOSH is part of the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
There are seven links on the NIOSH Navigation Bar: Search NIOSH; NIOSH Home; NIOSH Topics; Site Index; Databases and Information Resources; NIOSH Products; and Contact Us.
Please note: DCAS web content cannot be accessed through the NIOSH navigation links. These links will take you
away from the DCAS Web site.

- NIOSH Program Area: Radiation Dose Reconstruction Page Header
The NIOSH Program Area: Radiation Dose Reconstruction Page Header is located under the NIOSH Header/Navigation Bar. It is used to
signal the beginning of DCAS content and appears on each page on our site.
Top of Page
- Page Content
The page content begins after the DCAS Page Header. The content section contains the page title and related topics. The content
section may also contain links such as Top of Page links, links to other DCAS pages,
and external links.
- Page Title
Each page on the DCAS Web site has a unique page title. The title appears after the DCAS Page Header and is enclosed in a shaded box. The page title also appears in the browser's title bar.
- Page Topics
Topics on each page are bracketed by solid horizontal lines. Topics are chosen to provide quick access to important and frequently accessed information.
- Content Links
- Top of Page Links
These links appear after each section on a page so that you can quickly return to the top of the current page. They are only used
if there is more information than can fit on one screen.
- Links to Other DCAS Pages
Links to other DCAS pages can be found in the content section throughout the site and guide you to additional information on the topic.
This allows you to explore the topic in more depth. Each link opens in the current browser window (DCAS does not use pop-up
windows) and will take you away from the current page. Please use your browser's back button to return to the previous page.
- External Links
The web address for each external link on our site is provided under the link
to alert you that the page is a non-DCAS site. Each external link opens in the current browser window (DCAS does not use pop-up windows)
and will take you away from the DCAS Web site. Please use your browser's back button to return to our site.
Please Note: External links are provided to help guide you to additional information
about program-related activities not covered on our site. However, their use should not be considered as an official endorsement
of their content. We do not control, approve, or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of information on
sites external to the DCAS Web site.

- DCAS "Find It!" Navigation Bar
The DCAS "Find It!" navigation bar is located on the right side of each page on our Web site and contains links to topics that can be
found on the DCAS Web site. The navigation bar is divided into three sections:
 |
- On this page . . .
This section of the navigation bar provides links to the topics covered on the current page. The links are dynamic. They change from page to page depending upon the topics covered on the page.
- Claimant Corner
This section of the navigation bar provides information that is especially helpful to claimants such as: program activities, references, A-Z site help, publications, and claim status. The links in this section are static. They do not change from page to page. These links are listed in alphabetical order by topic.
- DCAS Directory
This section of the navigation bar provides general information about DCAS, regulations, meetings, web updates, policies, procedures and guidelines, related program links, and A-Z site help. The links in this section are also static. They do not change from page to page. These links are listed in alphabetical order by topic, with the exception of the "DCAS Main Page" which is the last link under this section.

Top of Page
- Page Last Updated/Reviewed
We provide the dates that every page was last updated and reviewed at the bottom of each page. The "Page
last updated" date changes when any substantial change to the content occurs. The "Page last reviewed" date changes once a year when the entire site undergoes
review. If a page is created after the annual review, the date the page is created is used.

- NIOSH Footer Links
There are five links to NIOSH Web site pages at the bottom of each page of our site.
Please Note: DCAS web content cannot be accessed through the NIOSH navigation links. These links will take you away from the DCAS Web site.

Viewing Tips
- Adjusting Text Size
- Using Your Web Browser
If the text appears too small on this or any other Internet site, your browser may be set to the smallest text size. Most browsers allow you to change
the text size on a page. You may also be able to zoom in and out of the page using your browser. Since there are numerous web browsers and browser
versions, we cannot provide instructions on how to adjust the browser's text size on this page. Try clicking on your browser's help menu, if available,
or click on one of the links below to go to the support pages of widely used browsers.
- Changing Your Computer's Screen Resolution
If the text and graphics on your web browser and on all of your computer programs are too small, you may want to change your Screen Resolution. The
lower you set the screen resolution, the larger the text and graphics will appear. Conversely, the higher you set the screen resolution, the smaller
the text and graphics will appear. Our Web site has been designed to work on screen resolutions of 800 x 600 pixels (the web standard). If your screen
resolution is set higher than this, the text may look too small. Since there are numerous monitors and operating systems, we cannot provide instructions
on how to adjust your computer's screen resolution on this page. Please review your monitor's or operating system's Help documentation for more
information.
- Viewing PDF Documents
PDF (Portable Document Format) files located on our site require the Adobe Acrobat Reader. They are indicated by the PDF icon that
appears to the left of the document. To avoid problems with viewing and printing, we suggest you download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe
Web site.
