Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities Sector Description
The NORA Transportation, Warehousing and Utilities (TWU) super sector grouping includes two parts: the NAICS Transportation and Warehousing Sector and the Utilities Sector. The Transportation sub-sectors include industries providing transportation of passengers and cargo; scenic and sightseeing transportation; and support activities related to modes of transportation. The Warehousing sub-sector includes industries providing warehousing and storage of goods. The Utilities sub-sector comprises establishments engaged in providing, servicing, and distributing; electric power; natural gas; steam supply; water supply; and sewage removal. The TWU super sector represents 5.2% of the U.S. workforce across the ten NORA sectors. The following table represents the employment and fatality information for the TWU super sector.
