Topic Pages

NIOSH topic pages provide access to a broad range of web-based information on an occupational safety and health subject. Typically, topic pages contain introductory material and links to NIOSH publications and other resources related to the subject matter.

Topics that reflect the outputs of the Manufacturing Program include:

Health Hazard Evaluations

A Health Hazard Evaluation is a study of a workplace that is done to learn whether workers are exposed to hazardous materials or harmful conditions and to provide recommendations for protecting these workers. Over 1500 manufacturing-related Health Hazard Evaluation Reports are available and can be searched at the HHE website. A few examples are:

Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) Program Reports

The NIOSH Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) program concentrates on investigations of fatal occupational injuries. The reports are produced by NIOSH or a state FACE Program and can be searched in a variety of ways at the FACE website. A few examples are:

Engineering Control Survey Reports

NIOSH conducts two types of Engineering Control Evaluation Surveys (Walk-through or preliminary and In-depth) as a part of research to reduce work related illnesses and injuries. The reports can be searched at a Workplace Survey Reports website. A few examples are:

NIOSH publications

NIOSHTIC-2 is a searchable bibliographic database of occupational safety and health publications, documents, grant reports, and journal articles supported in whole or in part by NIOSH. The links below provide the results of selected searches for several industry segments within the Manufacturing sector:

These searches can be refined further by users to better meet their particular needs.
