Sector Programs
To better serve workers, NIOSH chose to develop programs in each of the ten NORA sectors that have been defined. Each program sets priorities for NIOSH work in the sector, monitors NIOSH-funded projects related to its sector, and encourages new NIOSH projects to address sector priorities the programs have chosen.
Each sector program also uses some NIOSH resources to facilitate the work of the associated NORA Sector Council. Each Council establishes national priorities for research and outreach efforts to improve the health and safety of sector workers. The Council then facilitates partnership efforts to achieve those goals. A NIOSH Program leader is one of the two Co-Chairs of the NORA Sector Council. Each sector program tracks impacts achieved by NIOSH projects and partner efforts in support of NORA goals
