Activities of the NORA Cross-Sector Council

Contact the NORA Coordinator with any questions or comments.

July 2008
Held an informal discussion during the NORA Symposium in Denver. There was wide agreement that the NIOSH cross-sector programs are valuable sources of information for NORA Sector Councils and can facilitate coordination among them.

May 2008
A series of four teleconferences was held, one in each of the four topic areas previously chosen: surveillance, musculoskeletal disorders, health disparities, and safety culture. Participants included those with expertise in the topic from various NORA Sector Councils as well as leaders of the relevant NIOSH cross-sector program. Information was shared on resources and recent activities that might aid in the selection of research and research-to-practice priorities in that topic area.

June 2007
The first teleconference meeting and subsequent communications identified four topics that would benefit from cross-council coordination: surveillance, musculoskeletal disorders, health disparities, and safety culture.
