Liberty Mutual Best Student Paper Award


— Student Contest for Occupational Injury Papers—

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety (LMRIS) co-sponsored a contest to recognize outstanding student papers related to occupational injuries. Student contestants with the winning submissions presented their work in a special session of the National Occupational Injury Research Symposium on October 21 - 23, 2008, in Pittsburgh.

Winning Papers

"A Case-Crossover Study of Occupational Laceration Injuries in Pork Processing: Methods and Preliminary Findings", by Lina Lander

"A Descriptive Study of Workers' Compensation Claims in Washington State Orchards", by Jon Hoffman.
