Abstract
The CPWR newsletter, with a new look and a new name "On Center" is part of CPWR's increasing emphasis on practical information and preventions to improve safety and health for construction workers. CPWR, the Center to Protect Workers' Rights, is the research and development institute of the Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD). Practical information on the following topics are included in this issue. 1) BCTD sends OSHA a draft silica standard. 2) CPWR Board names Pete Stafford as CPWR Head. 3) Policy research funds awarded to universities. 4) Elevator safety moves up after CPWR reports on hazards. 5) Construction workers go to college for safety, health certificate program 6) Deaths from aerial lifts: falls, electrocutions. 7) CPWR information on concrete drivers, electrical hazards.
