Abstract
Handling large amounts of experimental data bas become an increasing problem for the experimentalist. With the proliferation of computer-controlled data collection, frequently much more data can be produced than can be easily processed and analyzed. The use of a "virtual experiment" approach, coupled with other data processing and visualization methods, can greatly increase the amount of data which can be analyzed. The use of such techniques is demonstrated in the analysis of respirable sized mineral particles by scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS).
