Abstract
In this U.S. Bureau of Mines report, proposed narrow-vein and longwall mining concepts drillsplit technology (described in part 1 of this series) and in situ liner concepts (described in part 2 of the series) are combined and applied conceptually to environmental problems. Proposed applications deal with (1) acid mine drainage (AMD), (2) solid waste disposal, (3) site remediation, and (4) pollution prevention through innovative industrial design.
