Abstract
Chromite is beneficiated by froth flotation with an amine reagent. The ore is ground to 30-210 micrometer, pulped to 24-29 pct solids, acidified to ph <2.5 With h2so4, and floated with 0.5-1.0 Lb amine collector/ton of ore. Thus, chromite ore was ground to -100 mesh, deslimed to >30 micrometer, and pulped to 24 pct solids. The ph was adjusted to 2 with h2so4 and a rougher concentrate was floated in 3 stages with 0.2 Lb armac c/ton of ore in each stage. The flotation fraction assayed 41.2 pct cr2o3 and 5.6 pct sio2.
