Abstract
This study was designed to test the regional application of four popular synthetic unit hydrograph models. The performance of each model was evaluated with experimental watershed data from 38 watersheds in 14 states, 9 physiographic provinces, and 6 major coal-producing regions. The results provide insights to the regional application of each model and can be used to plan future hydrograph model development and calibration studies once an adequate surface mined land hydrologic data base is available.
