Abstract
The fourth volume of the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Method contains 60 environmental monitoring methods. The NIOSH sampling and analytical procedures give step by step information and instructions on how to monitor for toxic chemicals found in the workplace. All but one of the methods is designed for personal air monitoring to determine exposures to individual workers. Each method is explained in 10 sections that include synopsis; working range, sensitivity and detection limit; interferences; precision and accuracy; advantages and disadvantages; apparatus; procedure; calibration and standardization; and calculations.
